Holden’s manufacturing future in Australia remains up in the air, despite talks with State and Federal Government representatives in Adelaide this week.

With a South Australian state election looming, future State Government funding remains unclear although the future of the Elizabeth plant is likely to be a hot election topic.

It is expected that the Federal Government will ask Holden to commit to a high-volume export program if it's to provide further Federal funding assistance.


The most hotly anticipated Volkswagen Golf of them all – the GTI – arrived in Australian showrooms this week. The new model boasts a significant boost in torque, up from 280 to 350Nm, while power is boosted by 7kW.
