Holden launched its 2015 Trax SUV this week, with the big news being the addition of a new turbocharged variant.

The new range-topping version of the LTZ variant gets Holden’s 1.4 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 103kW and 200Nm, matched with a six-speed automatic and returning 6.9 l/100km.

The LTZ turbo starts at $29,990 plus on-roads, while the 1.8 litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine is still available in the LS and LTZ; priced from $23,990.

Following the arrival of the updated-for-2014 Superb, Skoda announced its Superb 4X4 Outdoor will join the local range as a special edition from October.

Powered by a 125kW/350Nm turbo-diesel engine, the Outdoor offers on-demand all-wheel-drive, enhanced off-road ability and a more ‘rugged’ look.

Based on the top-shelf Superb Elegance, the 4x4 Outdoor adds adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights, a 6.5-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and heated seats, with prices starting from $52,690 plus on-roads.
