The wait is over; the covers have now been officially removed from the new 2014 Ford Mustang.

A few eyebrows were raised when we learned Australia will not be getting the V6-powered version. Instead, Ford Australia has chosen to opt for a traditional V8 to be joined by a four-cylinder EcoBoost model in the Australian line-up.

TMR asked Ford’s powertrain VP Bob Fascetti at the glamorous Sydney launch if an EcoBoost engine can rightly power Ford’s new ‘pony car’; check out his response.


The rumour mill went into overdrive this week, with the news that Holden has made a 'behind doors' decision to cease manufacturing cars in Australia, but is yet to make the an official announcement.

This comes despite confirmation from Holden of a deal with its workers to cut production costs by up to $4000 per vehicle.

Further fuelling the fire was news late in the week that General Motors will withdraw the Chevrolet brand from Europe, freeing up GM Korea to increase production for Australia.
