Poland’s first supercar will hit the streets before the end of the year, developer Arrinera Automotive says.

Plans for the new model first surfaced early last year, suggesting development has been moving at lightning pace.

Since the initial announcement, Lee Noble, creator of the famous British Noble supercars has come on board, lending his hand to developing the chassis and suspension.

The production car will be a result of a joint venture between Poland's Arrinera Automotive, and Noble’s new company; Fenix Automotive.

Whilst the project is not quite complete, Arrinera has announced technical specifications, including the sort of performance numbers we should expect.

The chassis will be comprised of a tubular steel spaceframe, with a carbon-kevlar body draped around it, keeping weight to just 1300kg.

Powering the Arrinera will be a mid-mounted, 485kW version of the Corvette ZR1’s LS9 6.2 litre supercharged V8.

Such a power-to-weight ratio is tipped to yield a 0-100km/h figure of less than 4.0 seconds, with the quarter mile covered in less than 12 seconds.

Top speed is expected to exceed 330km/h.

Despite the use of exotic materials and impressive performance claims, Arrinera says the supercar will be available in the UK for the equivalent of AU$157,000.

In the UK, that's Audi R8 V10 money.

Arrinera is now taking orders for the supercar and hopes to deliver vehicles to Europe, the Middle-East, China and the US before the end of the year.
