Following Tesla's earlier opening-price nnouncement for the Model X SUV range, the electric vehicle maker has just announced what Australian customers can expect to pay for the rest of the loval Model X range.

The all-electric Model X is Tesla’s first SUV and, like the passenger car range, the platform and manufacturing processes are versatile so new, later options can be fitted as they become available.

Tesla says the scintillating range-topper, the P90D, runs a 193kW electric motor at the front driving the front wheels plus a 375kW unit at the rear driving the rear wheels.

Look for the Tesla Model X P90D to provide a range between battery re-charges of up to 467kms and a genuine supercar zero to 100km/h time of just 3.4 seconds.

Tesla Model X 90D has the same 193kW front motor but the rear is another 193kW version (zero to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds).

First seen as a concept car in 2012, the head-turning Tesla Model X with its ‘Falcon Wing’ rear doors was unveiled in production form in California last October.

Ultrasonic sensors in the doors continuously measure the distance between themselves and any objects to the side to prevent you bashing them when entering/exiting - a minimum gap of 30cms is required.

Those seated in the third-row seats can electronically slide the individual second seats (three or two seats depending on the configuration) to ease access.

Luggage space is improved by folding the third row seat flat and, as electric motors are smaller than internal combustion engines, the Tesla Model features a small luggage area at the front.

Inside are the usual Tesla luxury and technology features and the dashboard layout has some noticeable cues from the Model S.

While Tesla Australia has announced prices, full specifications of the local models haven’t been revealed.

Model X 60D - $122,812.20
Model X 75D - $139,842
Model X 90D - $163,242
Model X P90D - $201,072

Note: Prices include LCT, but exclude on-road costs
