Suzuki Vitara Diesel Recalled For Temperature Sensor Solution

Suzuki has this week issued a recall for its diesel-powered Vitara small SUV, due to a potential problem with a sensor.

The carmaker has identified a weakness with the Ambient Temperature Sensor Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL), which may not illuminate due to a software programming issue.

Should this occur, the driver may experience a drop in engine power and the vehicle may no longer comply with emissions regulations.

The recall process will involve an inspection of the vehicle and reprograming of the software.

A total of 32 Vitara diesels are included in the recall in Australia, sold between April and September of this year.

In June, Suzuki also recalled its Swift light car, due to a potential brake fluid leak.

Suzuki will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
