Suzuki Australia has pulled the pin on its Celerio micro car owing to slow sales that saw the model record the lowest sales in its segment up to July this year.

Holding the title of Australia’s cheapest new car, the Japanese brand’s Thai-sourced five-door was offered with driveaway pricing starting at $12,990.

Newer and highly competitive rivals including the updated Mitsubishi Mirage, and new generations of the Holden Spark and the Kia Picanto have made success difficult for the Celerio in 2017, with just 141 saes for the rear, representing a 74 percent decline compared to the same time last year.
