Skoda has unveiled a very tasty enhanced version of its new Rapid small sedan at this year's Wörthersee GTI Treffen in Austria, offering a preview of what could be a new RS model.
As the Sport concept, the Rapid gains flared guards, larger and wider 19-inch alloy wheels, twin exhaust tips and a full sports body-kit.
What the concept represents for the model line is unclear, but with RS models available in the smaller Fabia and larger Octavia families, it's no stretch to imagine Skoda is planning a properly rapid Rapid.
But, like the top-shelf Octavia performer, any Rapid RS model would be unlikely to get significant sheetmetal changes, meaning the massively flared guards of this concept would be dropped from the production model.
Skoda also hasn't offered any details on the Rapid Sport's powerplant, suggesting this concept is purely a styling exercise.
When it hits Australia in the coming months, the Rapid will be offered with 1.2 litre 77TSI and 1.4 litre 90TSI engines, making the small liftback sedan a strictly commuter-flavoured prospect.
