Skoda has released the first official teaser video for the upcoming 2013 Octavia midsizer, ahead of its global debut in the coming months.
Drawing inspiration from the new Rapid small car, the third-generation Octavia will evolve the styling of the current model into a sharper and more modern design.
In its current form, now eight years old, the Octavia is offered as a sedan-like liftback hatch and as a wagon.
The next Octavia will ride on Volkswagen's new MQB platform, which also underpins the new Golf hatch and Audi A3 models.
We can also expect to see the same four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines revealed with the new Golf, along with a new version of the Octavia RS hero model.
