With the petrol-powered Skoda Kodiaq having arrived just over two months ago, Skoda has now completed the set with the addition of a diesel engine for its seven-seat SUV.

After a slow start in the fiercely competitive large SUV class (only the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack, Haval H8 and H9 and out-of-production Toyota FJ Cruiser sold less) Skoda will be hoping the addition of a diesel option will help to kickstart sales.

Pricing for the Kodiaq 140TDI will start at $48,990 plus on-road costs, a $2700 premium compared to the 132TSI, and like its petrol-powered counterpart a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and all wheel drive are standard.
