Saab’s 9-3 SportCombi wagon is on the comeback trail, according to reports out of the US this week.

Late last year, the embattled Swedish carmaker finally returned to the spotlight with the reborn 9-3 sedan, under new owners National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS).

Speaking this week with enthusiast site Autoblog, NEVS communications boss Mikael Ostlund said that the stylish wagon would rejoin the range, although timing is still to be confirmed.

A long-expected electric version of the 9-3 is also on the way, with a small 200-car pilot program already under way in the Chinese city of Qingdao.
