Following a relatively short and markedly unsuccessful run, Renault’s Fluence has been shown the door, exiting the Australian new car market.

The Fluence mustered a grand total of 1434 sales since launching here in 2010, just 139 of those in 2014. The small sedan’s highest point came in its first full year here, 2011, when it achieved 593 sales.

A 2013 facelift and feature upgrade breathed a semblance of new life into the Fluence, but buyers remained uninspired.

In a Renault line-up that has found significant improvement in 2015, with year-to-date sales of 3182 against 2426 for the same period in 2014, there is simply no room for the underachieving Fluence.
