Renault Australia has boosted the appeal of its Renault Sport (RS) and GT models, introducing an expanded warranty program today.
The sporty French models will now come with a five-year / unlimited kilometre warranty, retroactively covering all examples delivered since July 1.
The new scheme is an expansion of Renault’s ‘regular’ passenger car warranty program, which was extended to five years back in April 2011.
A five-year roadside assistance plan that only covered Renault’s regular passenger models has also been extended to the Sport and GT variants, which previously had three years of roadside coverage.
“We were the first European brand in Australia to offer a five-year / unlimited kilometre warranty on our passenger cars and we are maintaining our commitment to offering our customers peace-of-mind with the introduction of the [same] warranty on our Renault Sport products,” Managing Director of Renault Australia, Justin Hocevar, said.
“This new five-year new-vehicle warranty on the Australian range of Renault Sport vehicles is a permanent change, not a short-term gimmick.”
Mr Hocevar said Renault has seen a 68 percent improvement in warranty costs per vehicle over the last six years, and the French carmaker can now boast some of the best warranty figures in the industry.
Renault Sport’s expanded warranty plan now gives potential customers of rival French sports brand Citroen DS something to think about.
