Volvo is reportedly set to reveal major updates to its S60/V60 range in 2013, along with another update to the ageing S80 sedan. A brand-new XC90 SUV is expected to arrive in 2014.
Industry paper Autonews Europe reports that Volvo marketing boss Doug Speck outlined the plans at this month's Paris Motor Show.
The S60’s facelift, a mid-cycle refresh, will follow its 2010 debut. For the S80, the revision will be its second since its 2006 launch.
These updates will also follow minor running changes announced earlier this year, likely to reach local models soon.
The new XC90 will reportedly be unveiled in the second half of 2014, some 12 years after the current models 2002 debut.
This new model is expected to use Volvo’s new ‘Scalable Platform Architecture’ (SPA), which will form the basis of various future models.
Joining the recently launched V40, the refreshed sedans and new XC90 will be key in achieving Volvo’s annual sales volume target of 800,000 units by 2020 - a significant leap from the Swedish manufacturer’s 449,255 2011 result.
