The Takata airbag recall in Australia is in full swing, with Honda, Nissan, Lexus and Toyota all announcing further recalls in recent weeks.

For Lexus, its SC 430 has now been recalled while parent company Toyota has expanded its program covering Corolla, Yaris, Echo, RAV4 and Avensis models.

Toyota is also recalling 650,000 of its Prius V hybrid models worldwide for a potential software problem. Affected models were built between November 2011 and November 2014.

Honda has expanded its Takata airbag recall as well to include 2009-2012 City, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2010-2012 Insight and 2006-2012 Jazz models.

The carmaker says an investigation of parts returned from the market showed some driver's front airbag inflators were confirmed to have “wide ranges of density variation within propellants”.
