Jaguar Land Rover has issued a recall this week for a trio of its Range Rover models in Australia.
Affected vehicles include the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Evoque, built for the 2016 and 2017 model-years.
The carmaker has identified a weakness with the vehicle’s front passenger airbag initiator unit, which may not trigger the airbags when necessary during a collision.
This could lead to an increased risk of injury for the vehicle occupants. It is important to note that this recall is not affiliated with the Takata airbag recall program afflicting other carmakers.
Just 42 vehicles are on the recall list in Australia, sold over a two-month period last year stretching from August to October.
The recall process will see the offending airbags and associated componentry replaced.
Jaguar Land Rover will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
