Hot on the heels of the first official teaser issued last week, Infiniti has revealed a full gamut of images of its QX80 Monograph, a design study that points to the brand’s next-generation mega SUV.
Infiniti has smoothed out the hulking lines of the current QX80 and made it a more handsome proposition, with tauter body surfaces and more angular face in preparation to tackle extablished luxury SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLS as well as new competitors like the BMW X7.
One of the Monograph’s more stand-out design elements sees the top surface of the headlights reach back into the front guards, illuminating the entire way back to the QX80’s guard-mounted rear view cameras which take the place of traditional door-mounted mirrors.
Being a concept, the Monograph also adopts a cleaner profile thanks to flush door handles, concealed side steps, and massive 24-inch alloy wheels that feature an outer flange that wraps over the tyre sidewalls.
Carry-over elements from the current QX80 include a blacked-out A-pillar giving the Monograph the appearance of an uninterrupted glasshouse, backed up by a resurfaced version of the current generation’s stout triangular D-pillar.
The QX80 Monograph will make its public debut at the New York Auto Show later this week.
