Porsche has offered a hint of what is to come for its Panamera range, revealing a new Sport Turismo plug-in hybrid wagon concept in Paris this week.

While the new concept's unveiling follows rumours of a special shooting-brake version, Porsche has instead focused on mixing a sportback look with a strong dose of style.

The concept also previews what could be the general look of the next Panamera, with large new Cayenne-inspired headlights and a new tail-light design that borrows more than a little from the new 911 Carrera 4.

Inside those big headlights is a full LED arrangement, while the indicators have been integrated into the gills embedded in the front quarter panel. Expect the production model to gain side mirrors, of course.

The cabin is gifted with a relatively spartan layout, ditching the usual switches and dials for a large LCD touchscreen display. This, too, will likely make way for a more conventional unit in production form.

Power in the Panamera Sport Turismo concept is provided by a plug-in hybrid arrangement, matching a supercharged 3.0 litre V6 with an electric motor.
