Peugeot | Citroen | DS EV Program Boasts Faster Charging And More Power

Groupe PSA’s Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands are set to enhance the electric vehicle ownership experience, when their respective EV models arrive in the coming years.

The French carmaker has wasted no time in outlining its electrically-driven future as part of PSA’s ‘Push To Pass’ strategy, and fast-charging is set to be a main feature of its battery design.

Charge times for all-electric models using a fast charger are as low as 30 minutes for 80 percent of the available driving range, charging at the rate of around 12km per minute.

A 7kW on-board charger can achieve 100km of range in around 90 minutes, but a full charge via this method would take around eight hours.

For plug-in hybrid models, a 3.3kW on-board charger can replenish the smaller PHEV battery pack in 4.5 hours - falling to 2.5 hours if a 6.6kW charger is optioned.
