General Motors’ European subsidiary, Opel, has unveiled its updated small SUV competitor in the form of the Opel Mokka X, related to the Holden Trax under the skin, but with unique styling and powertrain options.

As part of its update, the Mokka gains an X suffix, set to appear on Opel’s entire SUV and crossover range. The 'X' is to denote its adventure-ready capabilities - including the availability of adaptive all-wheel-drive, something the Trax does without.

Engine choices for Europe include a pair of 1.6 litre diesel engines, rated at 81kW and 100kW. A new 114kW 1.4 litre turbo petrol also joins the range, matched with auto Start/Stop for a fuel comsuption figure of 6.6 l/100km.
