Nissan has recalled its Juke small SUV and its Navara pickup this week due to potential problems with a warning light.

The carmaker has identified a weakness with the rear oxygen sensor electrical short-to-ground and short-to-battery should the sensor fail.

A warning light is supposed to alert the driver to a potential problem, but the light may not illuminate when required.

If this occurs, problems with exhaust components may not be recognised.

Affected models include the F15 Juke and D23 Navara, sold in Australia between June 2014 and June of this year.

A total of 1965 Jukes are targeted by the recall, and all are fitted with the turbocharged petrol engine. Petrol engines are again targeted with the Navara (without turbocharger), with a total of 668 vehicles on the list.
