Fans (and detractors) of the Nissan Juke’s quirky looks can expect more of the same from the second-generation model, along with a dramatically upgraded interior quality.

With its ‘individual’ appearance, Nissan believes its customers still view the current Juke’s look as fresh and original, so the carmaker sees little benefit in a radical restyle for the next model.

Buyers can instead expect improvements to interior quality and efficiency, along with a leap in advanced technical features.

The Juke will shift to Nissan’s CMF-A platform for the new model - to be shared with the next Micra and Renault Clio - making it cheaper to build and enabling Nissan to ramp up production.

The new platform could also lend itself to new engines for some markets, including three-cylinder options, and the Juke Nismo is expected to return with the 2016 model.
