Nismo Micra Concept Revealed At Tokyo Auto Salon

Nissan's tuning and styling arm Nismo is on the war-path. Late last year, the offshoot announced plans to bring its tweaks to a wider assortment of Nissan models, revealing packages for the Juke CUV and even the Leaf electric vehicle.

This week, Nissan's baby Micra has been given the tuner treatment, showing off a styling and handling upgrade at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Finished in Nismo's signature white with smatterings of red and the customary racing decals, the Micra Nismo (March Nismo in Japan, of course) picks up unique bumpers, side skirts, a roof-mounted spoiler and larger wheels.

Nismo says we can find a pair of custom sports seats in the front row, along with a sports steering, but there are no interior photos of this one.

The whole thing is dropped on a new sports suspension and larger alloy wheels. There's also a sports exhaust system for the right aural experience - and likely a small power boost, although Nismo hasn't said.

"The future for Nismo is to develop premium sports designs for an ever-widening range of customers," Nismo boss Shoichi Miyatani said.

"Our forthcoming range of cars will be just as accessible and innovative as every Nissan product, but with added Nismo energy they will be even more fun to own and drive.
