Hot on the heels of the second coming of MINI's John Cooper Works GP performance hatch, spy photos have emerged of a MINI Coupe decked out in similar gear.

The newest member of MINI's line-up, the Coupe (and its Roadster twin) recently joined the Cooper and Cabriolet, Clubman, and Countryman SUV.

The existing JCW Coupe is currently the fastest MINI on sale in Australia, with a 0-100km/h time of 6.4 seconds. This spied GP version should be usefully quicker in a straight line and, with the GP chassis tweaks, quicker again through the curves.

MINI has yet to reveal full details on the Cooper Hatch version of the JCW GP, but the carmaker has already declared it the "fastest MINI ever made," lapping the Nurburgring 19 seconds faster than its predecessor.

The same could well be true for this Coupe version.

MINI Australia has confirmed it is chasing an allocation of the JCW GP hatch models. Coupe fans will have to hold their breath for the confirmation of the Coupe model, and whether we'll see it here.
