An ultra-rare Holden Monaro HRT 427 listed on eBay last week only to be withdrawn days later, has reappeared.

According to owner Paul Rammers, the car's initial listing had received a genuine bid of $900,000, while a second "fake" bid of $1 million had also been placed. eBay is understood to have investigated both bids, and Rammers later withdrew the auction.

Rammers has re-listed the special Monaro this week, for the same $900,000 starting price and a 'Buy It Now' option of $1 million.

If successful, Rammers will make a tidy profit of $650,000 above the price that he originally purchased it for at auction.

Rammers says he'll put the money towards broadening his collection with a Ferrari F430 Spider, a HSV W427 and another Monaro, this time the all-wheel-drive Coupe 4.

The Monaro HRT 427 was the star attraction at the 2002 Sydney Motor Show. It was built to be a bare bones race car for the road, eschewing such creature comforts as air conditioning, a radio and even the back seat.

Two racing versions of the car competed in Australian Nations Cup, and filled the top podium positions at the 2002 and 2003 Bathurst 24 Hour races.
