Mercedes-Maybach GLS To Top Premium SUV Range: Report

Mercedes-Maybach is preparing to add an SUV to its reborn line-up, according to reports out of the UK.

Speaking with Autocar, Mercedes S-Class Project Manager Martin Hulder reportedly hinted that a future SUV was ‘likely’ for the Maybach brand.

As with its comeback sedan in the Maybach S-Class, the new model would be based on Mercedes’ top-shelf SUV in the ‘GLS’, as the German carmaker continues its ‘GL’ renaming program for SUV models. 

Naturally, a ‘Maybach GLS’ would offer the finest interior appointments.

The S-Class aims to plug the gap to luxury car rivals Rolls-Royce and Bentley that opened when the standalone Maybach brand folded a few years back.
