Mercedes-Benz has pulled the covers from its new S-Class Cabriolet ahead of an official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Following a teaser image of the luxurious interior earlier this week, the new model arrives as one of Benz’s “most beautiful and exclusive S-Class cars of all time”, according to the carmaker.

Buyers will no doubt expect nothing less, as Mercedes has had more than 40 years to get it right with its last topless luxury four-seater appearing in 1971.

Joining the S-Class Coupe, the Cabriolet aims to offer the roofless experience combined with the comforts of the coupe in what Mercedes calls a “comprehensive warmth and wind protection concept”.

An optional Warmth Package includes neck-level heaters, wind protection and an intelligent, fully-automatic climate control system (that works with the roof up or down).
