Officially the covers will come of the new Van next month at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show in Atlanta, Georgia, with the preview sketch giving a glimpse of what to expect stylistically from the bold new large commercial vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz will also reveal details of its future “adVANce” initiative, which aims to assist the transport industry going forward with a range of connected and digital technologies aimed at addressing the changing logistics market and helping operators keep abreast of the latest e-commerce, networking, and urbanisation trends.
Details of the new Sprinter itself are yet to be revealed, though from the single image it’s clear that the new model will adopt the styling direction first previewed by the 2016 Vision Van concept.
The German automaker also promises new driver assist and connectivity technologies, along with improvements in efficiency and a more comprehensive range of variants to better address the needs of buyers across different sectors.
The Sprinter’s production footprint will also expand with current German production to be joined by a new facility in the United States to service the North American market.
The North American Commercial Vehicle Show opens on the 25th of September with further details expected to emerge in the lead-up to the official reveal.
