Fact: India is not known for its supercars (unless you have a seriously misguided view of what the Tata Nano and Hindustan Ambassador are all about).

It is known for building light, very small runabouts and eye-watering pickups and other off-roaders built to cope with the country’s appalling roads.

But now a start-up company in India - one clearly not easily deterred by a challenge of Taj Mahal proportions - aims to expand the country’s motoring reputation by adding a supercar to the list.

And if the name of the company - Mean Metal Motors - is anything to go by, the outfit with the big plans isn't your regular, garden variety corporate powerhouse... (in fact we don't know what it is).

Called the M-Zero, the intent is that the supercar will be powered by a mid-mounted, AMG-sourced 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 or a 4.8 litre naturally-aspirated V10 from somewhere (we know not where), matched with a 187kW electric motor.
