McLaren’s track-only P1 GTR has been officially unveiled as a design concept at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
First teased in June following the Le Mans 24-hour, McLaren stated at the time its goal was to build the “best driver’s car in the world, on track”.
The British carmaker has reinforced that goal this week when the covers came off the GTR concept, saying ‘phase two’ will begin shortly as the racer hits the track for further testing.
The select few buyers who already own a P1 and part with the £1.98 million (AU$3.55 million) asking price will get a more powerful version of the already hard-core 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 petrol-electric hybrid setup, with 736kW on tap.
