The event finished two weeks ago, but the Goodwood Festival of Speed just keeps giving. This time it has thrown-up another tasty nugget; the confirmation - yes, another one - of the Lotus Evora 400 Convertible.

While reports of the new Lotus pregnancy began late last year, it has been lacking that rock-solid confirmation from someone inside the tent.

Car magazine 'confirmed' it first in December last year, along with another rumour of an Evora-based SUV/Crossover (eeek!), but the confirmation didn't stick - no-one in Lotus put their hands up.

But all fixed now. A confirmation doesn't come more confirmed than from the lips of the big guy himself, Lotus boss Jean-Marc Gales.

"We're working on it (the Lotus Evora Convertible) now," he told UK publication Autocar, and shared similar words with US industry paper, Autonews.

So there we have it.

Besides missing the roof, the Evora 400 Convertible will otherwise mirror the Coupe. That means a 300kW 3.5 litre V6 in the back, and a sprint time to 100km/h of a tick over 4.0 seconds.
