Kia To Expand GT Program, Rio GT Under Consideration: Report

Kia is reportedly considering an expansion of its GT 'program', depending on the success of its new Pro_Cee’d GT hot hatch.

Speaking with Britain’s Auto Express, a Kia insider is understood to have confirmed the light Rio as the next model to receive the GT treatment, if the Pro_Cee’d is a winner.

"We expect the five-door Cee'd GT to be the best seller after it goes on sale next year as Pro_Cee'd only makes up about 15 percent of total Cee'd sales," the source said.

"If everything goes well and it's received warmly then we could spread the GT badge, and maybe see a GT version of the Rio as well."
