Kia has released a set of teaser images for a new three-door concept bound for March's Geneva Motor Show, possibly previewing a new performance model.
Dubbed 'Provoke', Kia describes the three-door as a "racy urban concept", carrying a futuristic evolution of the familiar styling language led by newly presidentialised Peter Schreyer.
Details for the new hatch have not been revealed, although it is clear that a tall, high-riding crossover will greet showgoers in Geneva.
If the Provoke enters production, it would likely be marketed against the likes of Nissan's motorcycle-inspired Juke, and the three-door MINI Paceman.
We could also see elements of the Provoke's styling appear on other future models in the Kia line-up, particularly the next-generation Soul - although spy photos suggest the new Soul will get a largely evolutionary design.
And power? If Kia's last concept, the Soul-based Track'ster, is anything to go by, the Provoke will be packing a fire-breathing turbocharged powertrain.
Kia is also known to be planning more sports models. The Korean carmaker recently revealed the 152kW European-market Pro Cee'd GT, and a similarly powerful version of the upcoming Cerato Koup is expected.
For now, we wait for Geneva.
