Kia Teases e-AWD Soul EV Concept

Kia will soon unveil a new all-wheel-drive version of its overseas Soul EV, which entered production in front-wheel-drive form early last year.

Details of the new concept are still to be revealed, but a telling teaser image released today offers a glimpse of what we’ll see at the Chicago Auto Show in February.

The fact of the concept’s identity has also yet to be confirmed, but in comparing today’s teaser image with a similar shot of the new Soul crossover, there can be little doubt.

The Soul has not gone without some styling tweaks in the process however, picking up new blacked-out and LED-rich headlights, a new ruggedised front bumper and new red-accented alloy wheels.

As for its technology, Kia describes the concept as an “advanced and capable all-wheel-drive” crossover, designed for “city dwellers seeking the ultimate urban escape”.
