Kia's recent run of new models and makeovers continues this week with the large Cadenza sedan, gaining updated front and rear styling.

Sitting between the Optima and the big new Quoris in size, the Cadenza has so far steered clear of Australian roads, thanks to its left-hand-drive configuration.

There's no change planned for that policy in the current generation of the Cadenza, meaning local fans will have to wait until an all-new model appears.

For 2013, the front-wheel-drive Cadenza - sold in Korea as the K7 - picks up a new front end, including new Quoris- and Cerato-like headlights, and a more pronounced take on the familiar 'tiger nose' grille design.

The theme continues at the rear, with a simplified tail-light design and re-styled exhaust tips.

Kia promises new comfort, convenience and safety updates, although specific details have still to be revealed.
