Australian supercar outfit JOSS Developments has released a single but telling image of its new JP1 supercar, which it will appear at Friday's Australian International Motor Show.

There remains few concrete details about the long-anticipated supercar, with engine and performance figures - even its final name - still to be officially confimed.

Earlier announcements however have pointed to an aluminium V8 engine producing upwards of 370kW, housed in a carbon fibre and aluminium chassis. Kerb weight is expected to be around 1000kg.

The company's technical partners include MoTec - an alliance described by JOSS as a "perfect fit" - along with transmission specialist Albins and renowned paint outfit AkzoNobel, known for its work in the F1 world.

"JOSS Developments has spent the last few years working on the business: building investment, working with our technical suppliers, and putting in place the right people so that when we launch JP1 the company will be geared up to deliver a great product to the market," JOSS founder and Technical Director Matt Thomas said.

Thomas added that while a sales date for the JP1 cannot yet be revealed, it was important to offer the public a glimpse and a preview of the car's progress.
