As partner Renault dishes up all the details on its new Frendzy concept, Nissan has released a second teaser image of the upcoming Infiniti JX seven-seat SUV.

The new image, which offers a glimpse down the profile of the new crossover, follows a teaser illustration released earlier this year.

The JX is scheduled for a production debut at November's Los Angeles Auto Show, but a concept version will appear before that at next month's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

For the production version, Infiniti says it will release a new image every Thursday (US time) on its Facebook page as part of its 'Power of 7' campaign.

"Families don't have many luxury vehicle options today. The new Infiniti JX will be the seven-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now," Infiniti boss Ben Poore said.

According to Infiniti, we can expect to see more than a few nods to 2009's hugely popular Essence concept, including a swooping coupe-like roofline.

Like the sports car concept, the JX teaser art reveals a kinked C-pillar - expected to become a common sight on all Infiniti cars - and a character line that arches over the front wheel guard before diving down below the belt line.

Technical details have yet to be revealed, although petrol and diesel engine options are likely, and an all-wheel-drive platform is expected.

Australia

With the Infiniti Australia line-up already revealed for 2012, the JX is unlikely to make its way to our roads before 2013.
