Hyundai's busy Australian International Motor Show stand is hosting a preview of the new i30 Tourer wagon this week, ahead of its Australian debut in the second quarter of 2013.

“The previous i30 CW proved extremely popular, accounting for over 20 percent of total i30 sales," Oliver Mann, Marketing Director at Hyundai Australia said.

"The New Generation i30 Tourer will likewise hold strong appeal for both private and business buyers."

The new Tourer, designed in Germany, is manufactured in Hyundai's plant in the Czech Republic.

The Tourer rolls on the hatch's 2650mm wheelbase but gains an extra 185mm in length. With the seats up, the Tourer boasts 150 litres more storage than the hatch, with 528 litres.

With the rear seats down, capacity more than triples to 1642 litres, to add to additional underfloor storage.

The i30 Tourer on show is a UK-spec model, powered by a 1.6 litre GDi petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic.

Australian range and specification details will be available closer to the Tourer's launch, which is expected in the second quarter of 2013.
