Hyundai has facelifted its i20 range for 2012, adding more safety gear, tweaking spec levels and giving its light hatchback a new face.
There's quite a bit of new sheetmetal; the bonnet and front quarter panel stampings have been restyled to accommodate a new front bumper and headlamps.
The rear bumper and tail-lights have also been smoothed out - modernise the i20's tail. Up front, Hyundai's signature hexagonal grille gives the i20 a stronger tie to the rest of the Hyundai range.
Alloy wheel designs for the high-grade Elite have also been revised for 2012, and the Elite's foglight housings have also been reshaped.
Inside, seat fabric has been changed and there are new piano black trim inserts on the dashboard. A trip computer is now standard, as are one-touch triple turn indicators and power folding wing mirrors.
Safety equipment now includes Hyundai's integrated VSM system, which incorporates stability control, traction control, ABS, EBD and brake assist.
The outgoing i20's five-speed manual has been replaced with a six-speed manual, however there are no mechanical changes to the i20's 73kW 1.4 litre petrol engine and the optional four-speed automatic also carries over unchanged.
