Hyundai gave the world a first look at its new i-oniq concept last week, handing over a single revealing image and a few basic details.

Today, new images have surfaced on the interwebs, offering a show-all look at the new high-riding coupe concept.

Measuring 4.4 metres long, Hyundai says the i-oniq offers almost lounge-like space for four occupants, and both its cabin and exterior styling were developed to evoke a premium feel.

The Korean carmaker has revealed that the hulking two-door is driven by a hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.0 litre three-cylinder petrol engine with an 80kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack.

Connected through a generator, the petrol engine and electric motor give the i-oniq a total driving range of around 700 kilometres. The concept also offers an electric-only mode, delivering a driving range of of around 120 kilometres.

“The i-oniq concept has been created to reflect the new thinking that runs through the Hyundai brand," said Allan Rushforth, senior vice president of Hyundai’s European operations.

"It has a bold design, inside and out, that provokes contemplation on the future of automotive possibilities, and a powertrain that highlights one of the ways in which we could power future products – wrapped in a package that exudes premium qualities."

The i-oniq concept will be unveiled during Hyundai's press conference at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
