Hyundai has handed down a pair of revealing teaser illustrations for its upcoming HND-9 concept, bound for next week's Seoul Motor Show.
Described as an evolution of Hyundai's "Fluidic Sculpture" styling language, the HND-9 is likely the first preview of what will become the next-generation Genesis Coupe.
Full details are still to be revealed, although Hyundai has confirmed the concept is powered by a turbocharged 3.3 litre petrol engine.
Matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the new turbo engine produces 272kW and sends power to the rear wheels - a combination that has "Genesis Coupe" written all over it.
On the styling front, the HND-9 embodies the traditional coupe profile and a back-set cabin that flows through to a high rear deck and a sharp drop-off.
As a concept, the four-seater HND-9 will feature large butterfly doors that open all the way to the B/C-pillar, although this feature will likely make way for conventional doors in any production form.
Slender front and rear lighting are connected to intakes and vents by a slim LED lighting feature, and a wide grille dominates the face of the new coupe.
If this is indeed a preview of the next Genesis Coupe, expect an Australian debut to be on the cards, thanks to confirmed plans for right-hand-drive production.
Watch for more details on the new concept at next week's Seoul Motor Show.
