The tiny Hyundai i10 is no longer the smallest offering in the Korean carmaker's arsenal, with the launch this week of the Indian-market Eon city car.

Entering as a new rival for the likes of Suzuki's lilliputian Alto and Ford's Australian-developed Figo, the Eon measures just 3495mm long - nearly 100mm shorter than the i10 but still 100mm longer than the Alto.

The Figo, a reworked version of the previous-generation Fiesta light car, is a relative giant in comparison, measuring 3795mm long.

Power for the Eon is provided by an 800cc three-cylinder petrol engine, producing just 41kW and 74.5Nm of torque. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the engine delivers fuel consumption figures of 4.7 l/100km.

While an Australian debut for the i10 city car is still to be locked in, you should not expect to see this one on Australian roads.
