Ever thought the Honda CR-Z could use a little more oomph? Is the extra 10kW/16Nm offered by the upcoming 2013 Honda CR-Z not enough?

Enter Mugen, Honda's factory tuning house. Mugen has announced that it will build up to 300 supercharged "CR-Z Mugen RZs" for the Japanese market, with sales starting from November 26.

The addition of a centrifugal supercharger raises power from the CR-Z's 1.5 litre inline four to 115kW, and lifts torque to 185Nm. A titanium cat-back exhausts helps the engine breathe easier at higher revs, while also reducing weight.

The standard CR-Z's electric assistance motor is retained, and adds an extra 15kW and 78Nm. That gives the CR-Z Mugen RZ at total power output of 130kW - 29kW more than the incoming 2013 CR-Z, and a substantial 39kW more than the model currently on sale in Australia.
