Chevrolet has pulled the wrap off its upcoming Trailblazer 4WD, based on the Colorado pickup that will go on sale here early next year.

The question for Australian holden fans will be: is it coming here? Holden has yet to announce local plans for a Holden Trailblazer debut, but the carmaker has confirmed it is looking hard at its options.

The Trailblazer will share its ladder-chassis underpinnings with the Colorado, and from these latest images, it's clear that both cars will share a common design language.

With all that it has in common with the Australia-bound pickup, imagining a local debut is no huge leap.

The Trailblazer could potentially enter as a dedicated off-roading seven-seater wagon above the Captiva range.

As for the 4WD shown here, we can likely look forward to some minor changes before it hits showrooms: expect the lights to be switched out for the pickup's less fancy units, and the final bumpers should softer too.

Watch for more specific details for the Trailblazer to come with its unveiling at the upcoming Dubai Motor Show.
