Chinese SUV brand, Haval, has gone for maximum impact at the Shanghai Auto Show with its latest HB-03 Concept.

As with the HB-02 plug-in hybrid concept that preceded it, the HB-03 sticks with Haval’s plug-in system which pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor with an electric motor powered by a 13kWh lithium-ion battery pack bringing official fuel consumption down to as little a 2.1 l/100km.

The all-in-one engine and motor unit can provide up to 200kW of power and 450Nm, or in Pure Electric mode the 95kW/278Nm electric motor can propel the HB-03 for up to 65 kilometres.
