When it comes to punching through to 300km/h and then slamming to a halt (without the assistance of a wall), Koenigsegg's Agera R is the world's quickest.

That's according to the folks at Guinness, declaring the Agera R the fastest to achieve the feat by wrapping up the whole process in just 21.19 seconds.

Breaking it down, that's a 0-300km/h run in 14.53 seconds, and then back to zero in 6.66 seconds.

The Agera topped things off with a 0-200mph (321.86km/h) time of 17.68 seconds - or about the time it takes the Tata Nano to hit 100km/h.

For the record (literally), the Agera R took 7.28 seconds to come to a halt after hitting 200mph.

Pulling the car up is a pair of 396mm vented ceramic discs and six-piston calipers at the front, and a 380mm/four-piston arrangement at the rear.

Power for the Agera R is provided by a twin-turbo 5.0 litre V8 engine producing 830kW and 1200Nm of torque on E85 bio-ethanol, sending motivation to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Officially, the most-mental Koenigsegg will hit 100km/h in 2.9 seconds, and its top speed is claimed to be more than 390km/h.
