Good Design Awards 2015: Tesla Model S, BMW i3 Take Top Prizes

The Tesla Model S sedan and BMW i3 hatch have picked up key awards at this year’s Good Design Awards in Sydney, flying the flag for electric vehicles.

The big win went to Tesla, landing the overall Good Design Award of the Year title, while BMW’s i3 came out on top with the Good Design Award for Sustainability.

The Model S made its production debut in 2012, but, thanks to an Australian launch that occurred only recently, the still-fresh sedan remained eligible for this year’s Good Design award.

The i3’s win follows its Australian sales launch last year, after first hitting European showrooms in 2013.
