Two of the gaming world's most hotly anticipated racers, Need For Speed Most Wanted and Forza Horizon, have been teased further this week in a pair of new video clips.

Both games expand on the increasingly popular road-racing theme, offering expansive worlds to explore and smash your way through.

The new NFS Most Wanted ups the ante by allowing players full access to its entire garage from the get-go, including the new Lamborghini Aventador and Porsche's upcoming 918 Spyder

Other features include the ability to race against the game's top ten players - but only once you collect enough Speed Points to earn the privilege.

Pull off the sweetest moves, and your gamer profile image will appear on billboards around the city - a nice way to remind your friends (and rivals) of who they'll need to beat if they want the title of Most Wanted.

The XBox-only Forza Horizon marks a departure from the simulator roots of earlier incarnations, jumping on the world-exploring and road-racing bandwagon.

Publisher Turn 10 describes Horizon as an open-world environment that "puts a spotlight on speed, style and the freedom of the open road".

The story revolves around the Horizon music festival in Colorado, and while details are thin on the ground, we can likely expect a vibe similar to the Race Wars scenes from the popular The Fast And The Furious film.

The game promises 65 different surface types and conditions, including tarmac, gravel, dirt and snow in varying grades of grip.

A Project Gotham Racing-like points system will also feature, meaning that players can rack up points not just by winning races, but also through executing impressive powerslides and burnouts.
