Australia’s Performax International has issued a recall for its 2014 and 2015 model-year Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks.

The local company says a specific steering box is the reason for the recall, and that the offending part is not fitted to all F-Series Fords from this period.

Drivers using vehicles with the offending steering box may notice the steering knuckle making contact with the steering stop over time, as a result of normal wear and tear.

However, should this condition be allowed to continue, the stress on the tie-rod ends may cause these parts to fail. The result could be a loss of steering.

Around 122 vehicles are targeted by the recall, but Performax says only around three percent have experienced any issues. Further, 21 percent have already been attended to under the recall program.

Customers are urged to contact their local Performax dealer for further information.
