Fiat Preparing Fixed-Roof 124 Coupe Off MX-5 Chassis

Talk in Europe points to Fiat’s Mazda MX-5-based 124 Spider gaining a hardtop Coupe version next year.

But reports claim the Fiat version will not use a retractable hardtop like Mazda’s upcoming MX-5 RF model - instead the Italian version will be a fixed-roof coupe.

It’s claimed this move is to provide a look distinct from the Mazda version and could follow the styling cues of the Fiat Abarth 124 Rally concept (pictures) which debuted last year at the Geneva Motor Show.
